Touch Screen Directories

Problem

Improve the process of updating the information of static directories, and extending customer service.

Solution

In 2006 Visionstate signed an agreement with Ivanhoe Cambridge Properties to replace static directories with interactive touchscreens in its portfolio of Canadian shopping centres. Among other functionality, the application features a 3D avatar that greets and welcomes people to the shopping centres and assists them in finding stores, products and brands. These interactive wayfinding and customer service units can now be found across Canada, from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Nanaimo, BC. The "ViCCi" units have experienced millions of interactions during that time period.

Testimonials

  • Ivanhoe Cambridge forged a relationship with Visionstate with the objective of establishing an interactive mall directory wayfinding system that would take advantage of technology to provide a higher level of customer service, introduce a more efficient system for maintaining tenant directory updates, and highlight additional shopper information about shopping centre amenities and services. The ViCCi units have been a tremendous success in our properties and well received by the shoppers. The ViCCi directory system has proven to be very reliable and the level of service provided by Visionstate has been and continues to be excellent.

  • Since the Grand Opening of CrossIron Mills, the VICCI systems have been a vital component in educating our customers on what stores and services have to offer. People appreciate how easy it is to use, and how quickly and efficiently information can be obtained. The VICCI systems are certainly an integral part of the CrossIron Mills experience. Thank you to everyone at Visionstate for providing such an exciting product and for always providing prompt and friendly service.

  • The ViCCi units are easy for our customers to use, and the directions provided by ViCCi are extremely easy to follow. Our merchants love the added value of having a photo and description of their store included in their listing and the convenience of job postings. We have found ViCCi very simple to update so we can keep relevant events and opportunities fresh for the mall and our merchants; and the data we can collect is very helpful in discerning customer interests and common questions. We have overall been extremely satisfied with ViCCi.

  • Visionstate was a phenomenal company to work with. The hardware they provided worked perfectly for our needs, they were very responsive, and they worked with us to solve a lot of technical issues that arose as we progressed through the project.

Mobile Device Directories

Problem

Providing effective customer service and wayfinding in a large power centre environment spread over 320 acres on Edmonton's south side, the shopping, entertainment, and dining complex contains more than 2.3 million square feet of space, making it one of the largest open-air retail developments in North America. The challenge: no client accessible location to house any consistent customer service information.

Solution

In 2010 Cameron Developments contracted Visionstate to create an iPhone mobile app that would provide customers the ability to download detailed maps, locations and other pertinent information about South Edmonton Common. Customers can now download the "app" from the Apple App store and be able to search and find products, brands and stores throughout the development.
